Lecture outline:
How is it possible that with decades of advancements in equipment and clinical techniques that dentists seem to be increasingly cutting their careers short due to accumulated musculoskeletal damage, specifically to their neck and back? Research has shown that the occupational hazard to the dentist’s physical health is linked to the everyday awkward posture and torque produced by their operator position.
Is it possible to practice dentistry in a neutral or balance operator position to avoid these health problems? I will explain and demonstrate a series of daily routines and movements that will improve one’s mobility and overall movement. I truly believe that these routines, that can be performed anywhere, are the key to a prolonged healthy career.
